I tend to take hollywoodian quotes & stories with a grain of salt, but I recently discovered a speech by college basketball coach Jimmy Valvano that resonated with me quite well, and I hope it does with you also. Jim died of cancer in 1993, a month after accepting the Arthur Ashe Courage & Humanitarian Award. This was his acceptance speech:

“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears – could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. If you do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.”

Two thoughts: first of all, I think it”s true for women as well . Secondly, what can bring more value to one’s life than spending time with people you like?
